Fast simulation method for the detection of reflection - and crosstalk effects during the design of complex printed circuit boards

چکیده
In this paper two fast frequency domain methods are presented for the determination of the voltages at all terminations of coupled transmission line systems. Algorithms based on these methods can be used for a fast preanalysis of complex PCBs with respect to re ection{ and crosstalk e ects. The dynamical behaviour of a transmission line system is described by a frequency dependent transfer matrix which is calculated with two di erent methods. The rst method is based on a Pad e Approximation and the second requires the knowledge of the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of the product of the inductance and capacitance matrix. Within both methods the symmetry of these matrices and a fundamental property of the matrix exponential were used to develop e cient algorithms.

Fast Simulation of Reflection and Crosstalk Effects Using a Pad E Approximation
The detection of reeection{ and crosstalk{eeects during the design of complex printed circuit boards is very time consuming if it is based on an accurate simulation of the voltages at the inputs and outputs of all transmission lines. A division of the complete analysis process into a fast and approximative preanalysis and the following accurate simulation of those nets, which have been classiie...

This paper deals with the development of algorithmic rules to estimate voltage levels caused by reeection eeects on printed circuit boards. These rules can be used within a fast preanalysis of complex PCBs to detect critical reeection phenomena. The presented approach has been developed for analyzing two{point nets with an arbitrary number of homogeneous transmission line areas. The input and o...
متن کاملA Novel Metamaterial Structure to Reduce Far-End Crosstalk in Printed Circuit Boards
Far-End crosstalk is a common problem in a printed circuit boards when two transmission lines are in close proximity. This paper proposes a newly designed method to reduce the far-end crosstalk using metamaterials as a complementary split ring resonator (CSRRs). The CSRRs are etched in the ground plane and are used to control the radiated electromagnetic fileds. Comparative analyses are taken f...
متن کاملControlling Emi with the Extended Emc{workbench
Due to the high frequencies of analog and/or digital signals and a high package density on Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), problems occur concerning re-ection, crosstalk, radiation, and irradiation. New design methods have to consider the analysis of the expected radiation behaviour already during the design{phases of a PCB. If violations of the legal requirements (FCC, CISPR, VDE 0871{B, etc.) c...
